Why We Built This Site
Michigan court access can be hard to sort out because the correct counter depends on the court and record type. The 1st Judicial Circuit Court, also called Hillsdale County Circuit Court, uses the County Clerk acting as Circuit Court clerk. 2B District Court keeps its own cases, and Probate has a separate register. MiCOURT Case Search helps locate public case histories, but it is not the official file. MiFILE / TrueFiling is for electronic filing, while a qualifying appeal follows a separate Michigan Court of Appeals route. The material here brings together verified court routes, clerk contacts, record-request choices, and terms that help a reader start in the right place.
What You Will Find Here
- Docket guides: how criminal dockets and civil dockets are searched and read in Hillsdale County
- Court dates and settings: how to read the court calendar and confirm a hearing date or setting
- Case lookups: how to run a case search by party name or case number through the statewide portal
- Record requests: how court records and certified copies are requested from the clerk of court
What We Cannot Do
This is a privately run reference site. It has no connection to a Michigan court, clerk, or state agency. There are clear limits to the help it can provide:
- We cannot pull an official docket sheet or case file for anyone
- We cannot change, reschedule, or reset a court date or hearing setting
- We cannot remove, seal, or amend a case on any docket
- We cannot issue certified copies of any docket, order, or court document
- We cannot give legal advice or explain how a specific case applies to you
- We cannot guarantee that every phone number, fee, or setting listed on this site is current right now
Only the clerk of court or the trial court that heard the case can issue an official or certified copy of a docket sheet or court record. We can point you to the right office, but the document has to come from them.
Search Partners
Some pages on this site include search boxes powered by third-party providers. Those companies set their own pricing and run their own services. When you use one of those tools and it leads to a paid signup, we may earn a referral fee. That revenue helps keep this site free for visitors. We do not control what those tools charge or what shows up in their results.
